My daughter and I have been on all of the following diets to try and deal with our hyper-sensitivities, all of which were recommended to be healing. None of them healed us but did provide relief from symptoms for awhile. You may find that one of these diets is helpful in your healing journey and so I have provided information under the Resources page (except the Alkaline Diet, click on its link below) where you can get more details. All of the above mentioned diets have a great body of science around them and their literature will take you through what is happening at a cellular level in your body.
- Wheat free and then, gluten free.
- Elimination Diet (low salicylate, amine, glutamate; no artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives), then adding in low sulphur and soy free.
- Alkaline Diet.
- Specific Carbohydrate Diet.
- Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) Diet.
- Body Ecology Diet.
- Nourishing Traditions.
- Low Oxalate Diet.
What I came to realise was that diets only heal when they are in harmony with your body.
One of the key themes of most of these diets is the removal of anything artificial (colours, flavours and preservatives) from your diet. If you look on the side of most processed foods (ie anything sold in a can or a sealed bag) you are more than likely going to find something artificial in the ingredients. Our bodies were not designed to process this stuff and it has no idea what to do with it. If you are consuming artificial substances, they are either being held somewhere in your body for when it figures out how to deal with them or you are (consciously or unconsciously) suffering reactions as your body attempts to process it. Do yourself a favour and don’t consume it in the first place or at the very least severely limit your intake of them ☺.

Otherwise the symptoms that you are experiencing are just messages to let you know that your body needs to heal something that it is holding onto.
